Ballads

[Physical CD + €5 shipping] We felt that it was time to get back to our folky roots and produce an album that incorporated irish story-telling, songs that we had cowritten with friends, notably Mercyland Ireland Songwriters Workshops, diddly-dum, some talented friends playing, and "Made in Ireland." May it scratch where ye itch. ‘Whether it be a slow, medium-paced or fast tempo song, the term ‘ballads’ was and still remains just another word for stories, especially in the Irish folk music genre. One must not mistake The Sweet Sorrows new album entitled Ballads as a bunch of slow romantic songs, but quite the opposite in fact. More a collection of well-crafted compositions that will get your feet tapping, brain thinking and above all, bring you into a better understanding of Irish song writing.’ - Brian Brody, Co. Wexford
