Written at Mercyland Ireland. Yorkshireman Jon Hirst and Kylie were exploring domestic refugee-related issues Kylie had scribed about in a morning exercise when Jon mentioned a memorial he had seen about the plight of refugees. The song is an empathetic look at the subject.

Lyrics

She’s a girl without a family
With no place to call her own
To be loved is all she’s asking
Find the ones to call her own
All she wants is recognition
Freedom from her unseen life
And her needs to be considered
Angry words just twist the knife

I’m a name not a number
I’ve no voice I am unheard
I’m a nuisance I’m a burden
I’m a song without the words
All I want is recognition
Freedom from this unseen life
And my needs to be considered
Angry words just twist the knife

Where’s the heart
Where’s the soul
Where’s the love that heals us all
Why contempt, why disdain
Open up feel their pain

I’m a name not a number
I’ve no voice I am unheard
I’m a nuisance I’m a burden
I’m a song without the words
